The society was registered on 9th May 1995 by the registrar of societies through the influence of Kenya National Union of Teacher (KNUT) Mwingi Branch under c/s number 7497 with a pioneer membership of 27. To date our membership is over 3,500 and its drawn from both primary and secondary school teachers, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) secretariat, KNUT and BBF employees.
Our Core business is to mobilize savings from members and provide them with credit at affordable interest rate.
The society recently opened its common bond to individuals working in civil service, private schools and other institutions.
